hile the burger may be one invention Bostonians can’t claim for themselves, restaurants around here are perfecting the idea. Some pull out all the stops, with fancy burgers, West Coast burgers, surprisingly good sliders, and burgers for only a few bucks. Here are nine burger secrets of all sorts:
Shhhh! The hamburger was purportedly invented by fast-moving Mongol horsemen under Genghis Khan, who had to eat while riding. They put lamb or mutton under their saddles to flatten it, then ate it raw between two slabs of bread. It was actually really good with ketchup.
