Great alternatives to ice cream

L

ike all good things, frozen yogurt was invented in New England in the 1970s. But it's come a long way since then. So if something cold would taste good right now, why limit yourself to the standards? Stray from the usual filling (and high-calorie) ice cream and opt for some fro-yo or silky smooth gelato at these standout secret spots:

Shhhh! First introduced by H. P. Hood under
the name Frogurt, fro-yo was later sold by Brigham's in 1978
as Humphreez Yogart. It wasn't very good.

1.
A low-cal fro-yo invented by two postdocs
2.
Great frozen yogurt—in a vegan option, too
3.
A hidden-away dessert that’s good for you
4.
A little scoop of Italy, where you least expect it
5.
Lobster gelato? Don’t knock it till you try it.
6.
A cool treat so rich you’ll forget ice cream ever existed
