A World War II destroyer you can go aboard

ore than a third of the visitors to the USS Constitution miss the USS Cassin Young, a World War II destroyer moored barely 50 yards away. The Cassin Young took part in forward action in the Pacific, including the Battle of Leyte Gulf. She was twice hit by kamikaze aircraft. The deck of the USS Constitution was the first American territory on which a Roman Catholic pope ever set foot, when Pope Pius IX came aboard on August 1, 1849, at the Italian port of Gaeta.
