aseball’s first World Series was played in Boston—but not at Fenway Park. It took place at the Huntington Avenue Grounds, now the site of Northeastern University. And hidden behind Northeastern’s Cabot Cage, you’ll find a piece of granite shaped like home plate in the exact spot as the original, and a statue of Cy Young, who pitched for the Boston Pilgrims against National League champs Pittsburgh in a best-of-nine series starting on October 1, 1903.
