Where to find the scene of the biggest robbery in the United States

A
lthough it’s one of the nation’s oldest parking structures, built in 1927 (and one of the few places in the neighborhood to park), that’s not the most interesting secret about the garage at 600 Commercial St. in the North End. It was also the site of what was then the largest robbery in the history of the United States: the Brink's Job on January 17, 1950, when seven men wearing rubber masks entered the second-level counting room through the Prince Street door and took $2.7 million. After an investigation that cost $29 million, the men were arrested just 11 days before the statute of limitations expired. The original counting room walls are gone, but the tile floor remains.
