Pool Party
A sleek club with free billiards
I
t may seem as if there couldn't be any secrets about Felt. After all, this trendy nightclub in the Ladder District has attracted the likes of Ben Affleck, Mark Wahlberg, Matt Damon, and the Black Eyed Peas to its three floors of bar and lounge space and its many special events. But look closer: While other clubs charge for billiards (and, in fact, are all about charging for billiards), playing pool is free at Felt's second-level bar on Tuesdays through Fridays, at all eight tables, on a first-come, first-served basis. Healy
It bans hats, T-shirts, and sneakers.
Shhh who knew
The Ladder District is called that because its narrow side streets connect parallel Washington and Tremont Streets like the rungs of a ladder. The name was resurrected by restaurant publicists to distinguish the resurgent neighborhood from Downtown Crossing and make it sound more trendy.
