he L St. Tavern was a no-frills, locals-only dive until it was made famous by the Academy Award-winning film Good Will Hunting. Now it’s a no-frills, locals-only bar with a shrine to the movie. The tables have been turned into laminated archives of memorabilia, from film shots and news clippings to quotes from the actors. The beer is cheap and the clientele is a friendly mix of young professionals and Southie “lifers” who greet each other by nickname when they walk in. Templeton

The supposed MIT lecture hall shown in Good Will Hunting is actually a room in the McLennan Physical Laboratories at the University of Toronto.
