t may look like a dive, but the Grasshopper will save you from scouring menus to find something that’s vegetarian or vegan. Everything here is. The focus is Asian—the No-Name Special, for example, a vegan homage to General Tso’s chicken, made of battered and fried gluten covered in sweet-and-sour sauce and sesame seeds. If you want to try everything, the Grasshopper hosts a buffet the third Sunday of each month from noon to 10 p.m. Moskal

General Tso's chicken is named for General Zuǒ Zōngtáng, a 19th-century Chinese military leader prominent in the 14-year Taiping Rebellion, in whose hometown the dish purportedly originated.
