ou might not expect to find an Irish pub smack in the middle of a suburban commercial drag, but Tommy Doyle’s has carved out a niche for itself between a couple of hardware and clothing shops by hosting live music and serving up traditional Irish food. Run by Finbar Griffin, a transplant from Dublin who also runs the popular Farragut House in Southie (and a second Tommy Doyle’s in Cambridge), this joint hasn’t been around long enough to be rustic, exactly, but it does have the obligatory Guinness posters and flat-screen TVs and friendly bartenders who are always ready with good Irish stout. And there’s something else you’ll find around here only at a bar in the ‘burbs: parking! Burns

Tommy Doyle's is named for one of the most famous Gaelic footballers who ever played, the winner of seven All-Ireland championship medals, three all-star awards, and many other honors.
