An often-overlooked gallery where the art is free to see

espite its location at the busy intersection of Commonwealth Avenue and the BU Bridge, the historic 808 Gallery space gets far less attention than its counterparts elsewhere around town. The Boston University-owned building hosts events and functions including the North American Print Biennial, the Arches Student Print Exhibit, and student gallery showings. Peter Fuller, who built the onetime Cadillac dealership that is now the 808 Gallery, was a multimillionaire socialite who dabbled in thoroughbred racing, land development, and managing professional boxers. He was the son of Massachusetts Governor Alvan Fuller.
