Home Grown
The only place to find organic vegetables on Martha’s Vineyard is the back of a pick-up truck
T
hough Martha’s Vineyard has no shortage of farm stands and locally grown veggies, certified organic produce is harder to find than you’d think. Much harder, actually—sold only two days a week at the farmers' market in West Tisbury. That’s where you’ll find Lisa Fisher and her pick-up truck—the owner and showroom of Standard Farms. Fisher says the certification process took three years and required she sort through long lists of rules about how to treat her crops. But the results are worth it—produce so healthy it’ll make everything else look, well, fake. Skidmore
