idn't think you could afford to hang out at the Chatham Bars Inn, one of the most luxurious grand hotels in New England? Well, now you can. The Beach House Grill, a seasonal restaurant and bar with outdoor seating right over the sand of the five-star resort's private beach and pool, is open to the public, though most of the public doesn't seem to be aware of this, with a Cape Cod clambake four nights a week. Slap on the sunscreen, grab a lobster roll and a G&T, and hobnob with the paying guests about your investment portfolio.

Here's another secret to enjoying the luxuries of the Chatham Bars Inn without springing for the room rate: the adjacent nine-hole Chatham Seaside Links Golf Course is owned by the town, not the hotel (though the hotel has been trying to buy it), and is also open to the public.
