ood luck finding the Beachcomber. But when you do, you'll feel like one of the many wrong turns you made put you on the Pacific, not Atlantic, coast. The one-of-a-kind (for Cape Cod) beachside surfer bar—it's just "the Combah" to locals—has a cabana-style deck bar that opens right onto Cahoon Hollow Beach, with its high sandy cliffs and powerful surf. (Yeah, those really are surfers out there, and the surfboard hanging from the rafters inside is signed by famous surfer Robert "Wingnut" Weaver.) The food is basic pub fare, but there's live rock, reggae, ska, zydeco, and occasional other music by local bands, with a great vibe fueled by margaritas and raw oysters. And if you really like it here, the Combah has two new two-level, two-bedroom cottages right on the beach, with well-worn paths straight to the bar, that you can rent.

Shhh who knew
Among other things, a visit to the Beachcomber is a good way to avoid the parking charge at Cahoon Hollow Beach. You’ll pay the normal fee, but if you eat or drink at the Comba, you’ll get it back in a credit toward your bill. Not sure it's a good beach day? Check out the beach cam.
